TOUR MS1

MONT-SAINT-MICHEL

"A bay, a rock, an abbey"

THE TOUR :

Rocky island located in the largest bay in Europe, the Mont-Saint-Michel abbey is known as "The Marvel of the Western World" and is still one of the most famous pilgrimage centers dating from the Middle Ages. The Mont St Michel is one of France's most well known and (most photographed) landmarks and enjoys a wonderful setting in the heart of the Normandy region, rich in history and well known for its characteristic architecture, rich farmland, gastronomic specialties and cheese.

ITINERARY :

We begin by crossing the western districts of Paris as far as the "Porte d'Auteuil". From this point we take the Normandy motorway and follow a scenic route as far as the town of L'Aigle. Stop at around 9.30 am at the restaurant "Le Dauphin" (provincial bourgeois decor) to enjoy a typically French brunch (summer). At around 10.30 am we take
our leave for Mont-Saint-Michel and arrive around 1pm. During the winter months, we lunch on arrival at the "Relais Saint-Michel restaurant (modern, refined decor with an excellent view of the Mont-Saint-Michel monument). We begin our afternoon by ascending the monument (by the ramparts or by the village) as far as the Abbey located on the top of the mount. Our guided visit covers the interior of the Abbey. Clients are then invited to discover the village on their own. At 4.30pm we leave for Pont-L'Evêque (famous for its cheese of the same name) for a dinner including local specialties at the restaurant "Lion d'Or" (charming rustic decor). Return to Paris around 10.30pm.
Tour duration : 15 hours.
